We were asked to throw 12 mattresses away yesterday as they weren’t quite of a good enough standard for the housing association’s tenants. After a couple of phone calls we managed to find a charity who’d accept them – Poverty Aid UK. We dropped them off immediately with the benefits being threefold
1. The housing association didn’t have to pay for disposal
2. The charity obtained some items for free that it could sell to help its cause
3. Mother nature didn’t have to swallow the mattresses up at great cost to the environment
All in all a great result for all parties.
