How We Work

At Greenbox Removals, we have a strong social conscience which underpins all the work we do.

We aim to provide affordable, cost-efficient services to a range of customers, whatever your moving need. From simple deliveries and house moves, to business relocations and clearances, Greenbox Removals will get the job done.

We also strive to minimise waste, through reusing packing boxes and donating unwanted items to charity.

Having worked as the head of procurement and logistics in a large housing organisation in Leeds for ten years, I was used to dealing with a number of removal companies.

Time and time again I would be let down. Some days the removal companies would fail to show, other times they wouldn’t bring enough personnel, every time I would have to supervise them to ensure that the work got completed correctly (and without swearing and smoking in front of the tenants!)

In the end, I knew I could do it better, and so in 2012 (shortly after the birth of my first child) I set up Greenbox Removals.

We got the contract with the housing organisation, and are still working with them to this day, over a decade later. And from there the other services we have to offer, particularly house removals, have grown and grown.

And so has our reputation.

This is mainly due to the staff we employ here at Greenbox Removals.

You have to fit in with the ethos to be a Greenbox teammate – kind, caring, diligent, patient, punctual, polite and hardworking. It’s these attributes you want on your side when completing a house move. It can be stressful for the customer so it’s our job to relieve that and also, if we can, even make it an enjoyable experience.

I often hear people saying that moving house is such a stressful time but, to be fair, most of that stress is actually prior to the move date, before we show up. It can be stressful dealing with solicitors/getting mortgages approved/getting everyone in the chain to agree a date/getting the exchange sorted so you know the move is definitely complete. I know, I’ve moved house a couple of times myself.

But, by the time we arrive on the morning of the relocation, all that is done and it’s just a case of moving your belongings. And, typically, it’s all done and dusted in a day.

We see such happy faces when the last box is placed down. And when we say Cheerio, there could be kids bouncing on the beds in their new bedroom, parents helping unpack, pizzas arriving from a local takeaway, people sipping tea on a recently positioned sofa, couples enjoying a beverage in the garden. There’s a hive of activity and there is always a fantastic sense of completion. A new house becomes a new home, and a new chapter in a life has begun.

It’s a wonderful thing to be part of.

I would definitely recommend Ed and his team. They helped us move house recently from Leeds to Gateshead. There was great communication throughout the process and they arrived promptly on moving day.
