Though, unfortunately Greenbox can’t take credit for that. The coding system was the brainchild of David who, along with his partner, Danielle, have had a bit of a nightmare with house sales and purchases.
The dates of sale and purchase didn’t marry up and so they had to store their items in Big Yellow Storage until they could get into their fantastic barn conversion in Guiseley. So, to enable them to know exactly what was in each box, as well as when they packed it (more recently packed boxes holding more necessary items to be unpacked earlier) they came up with a coding system where the first two digits were the month packed, the letter in the middle was the initial of the room the box was to be put into and the last two digits were the box number of that room (whose contents were listed on a spreadsheet).
It was amazing. David and Danielle were very precise in where every box was to go and the order in which they were to be opened even though they hadn’t even seen some of the stuff for 6 months.
As Orison Swett Marden once said, “A good system shortens the road to the goal”.
True, I reckon, and I’m sure it won’t be long until David and Danielle have everything unpacked and in its rightful place.
