Well, in this instance we did it for a little less than £1000.
It’s always great to get repeated business, it means that you did a good job the first time round. So when I heard from Maggi again, wanting to move house from Leeds to Wales, it was lovely.
Maggi was on a tight budget, so she wanted to know how much it would cost to move from Leeds to Wales.
We moved Maggi from Headingley to Cookridge about 5 years ago but the quieter life was now beckoning her so it was time to up-sticks again. She was going to downsize so it was only a two man and van job with Dan and I completing her move. We did, however, have to drop the items off at two locations.
Maggi – a voice coach with a wonderful voice herself – was so well prepared it really helped her house move from Leeds to Wales go smoothly (and keep the costs down). Although, I know it couldn’t have been easy for her as, in the five years she had lived in her house, she had turned the garden into a haven for insects with such a variety of plants living in absolutely harmony with each other. It was a pleasure to wander around it when I did the quotation. I know I would struggle to leave a place I had sculpted so gorgeously.
However, when we arrived at her new cottage in Wales, I understood why. What a location! And what an amazing drive to get there – through the winding roads, through the rolling hills. And it was a beautiful day to move house too, with a perfect azure blue sky.
Yes, I’m sure Maggi will be very happy in Wales. In fact, when we arrived, her son-in-law had brought around some of the largest apples I’d ever seen. He’d collected them off his tree as he lived nearby, and brought them round as a moving-in gift. Both Dan and I had one too, they were amazing!
It’s certainly a different pace of life over there, felt very earthy with less hustle-and-bustle.
Maybe that’s where I’ll move to when I decide to hang up my removal gloves. The final move I’ll complete, perhaps?
