Completed another successful house clearance in Leeds. This time for Hannah and Emma.
Here at Greenbox we have been asked to complete house clearances in Leeds often and for different reasons; we deal with all enquires in a sensitive manner.
When we got a call from Hannah and Emma they needed us to quote for a clearance of their Dad’s house, and quickly as they were only in the country for a few days.
We went round that evening and offered advice on items that they could sell (a grand piano that they sold on Facebook Marketplace or Ebay almost immediately), items we could donate to charity and the items we could recycle. Our main aim was to reduce what we needed to take to the tip. This makes the clearance cheaper as well as reducing the carbon footprint. It’s also a better feeling knowing that the items will be used again where possible.
There were so many of the items we were able to donate (tables/chairs/washing machine/bed bases/crockery). The majority of this went to SLATE and some went to St Vincents, both organisations were really grateful. And many of the items we were able to recycle, separating the wood from the metal and the glass
In the end very little was actually thrown away – a couple of mattresses, some sofas (which unfortunately didn’t have the fire label on) and about 10 boxes worth of unserviceable items. A great achievement from a 3 bed house with converted cellar.
Hannah and Emma left us with the keys to the property, so they didn’t need to be there when we completed the house clearance. We kept them up to speed with our progression via Whatsapp and sent them detailed photos of the property when it was completely emptied. They were really happy with the service as can be seen by the review they left on Google: https://g.co/kgs/z2ciPu
