Well it’s that time of year again when all the students arrive in Leeds. The roads were chocker-block with cars full of duvets, tvs, laptops, microwaves, irons, dry foods, excited/nervous youngsters and emotional/joyous parents.
Greenbox’s job on Saturday and Sunday was to greet the new students at the large high-rise student accommodation in the city centre and take their luggage to their rooms. We met lots of lovely folk from all corners of the UK. Saw some smiles, saw some tears; it’s a very emotional time when children leave home. Though I can’t remember the same reaction when I left home (all those years ago) from my parents, if I recall rightly the emotion was relief….
