Greenbox don’t get too many house clearances in Leeds so it was a lovely surprise to get one in Idle, Bradford. I’m not too sure how Caroline found us but she was happy with the quote and so we met her partner – Chris – there so he could open up the property.
Most of the items coming out we managed to get to charity, there were only a couple of sofas that didn’t have the fire retardancy labels on that had to go to the tip.
We always try to keep as many things from a house clearance from going to the tip as possible, it’s part of our ethos.
It was an absolute joy meeting Chris. He was such a personality with incredible stories to tell about his showbiz life. Who would have thought that I would meet the guy who has starred in the best underwater fight sequence of all time? Top Secret – what a film! I remember watching it when I was young and laughing until I cried.

Apparently it took 3 weeks to film just one minute of footage. No wonder though when you see the detail in it.
One of my favourite joys of conducting house clearances and house moves is meeting the customers and finding out a bit about them. I didn’t want this job to finish. Dan, Mal and I could have chatted to Chris all day.
A great job.
